Walking Your Client Through A Multi-Site Event

Picture this. You have a client looking to host an in-person networking and education program. They expect 100 employees to attend and want to maximize space for social distancing at the same time, so you offer the option to design a multi-site event.

The client asks, “What does a multi-site event look like and how does it work?” A multi-site event is a function that takes place at multiple locations simultaneously and offers a similar experience at each, using a hybrid of virtual and physical components. In order to maximize social distancing for this client, you may choose to partner with four local venues to split the guest list into groups of 25, decorate each of them exactly the same, and offer the same catering options at each along with a temperature check-in at the door, sanitizer stations and social distancing markers throughout the space. A speaker presentation or team-building activity, such as trivia, can bring the groups together virtually using video conferencing software.

“What about live music?” There’s a bit of flexibility in how multi-site events can utilize live music. If you’ve already determined what style of music the client wants to hear and the appropriate size band to use, you can then choose to either use several bands of a similar style in-person at each site, or broadcast one band to all sites remotely from a professional sound stage using turn-key production offered by one of our sound production partners.

Brandon Crumpton, owner of Key Signature Entertainment, started booking live music for events over 15 years ago. He has led the company through a growth period booking and producing entertainment to an average of over 600 events a year. Key Signature Entertainment has 3 full-time employees and has developed an event staff to assist with larger, award-winning events throughout the season. Key Signature Entertainment was chosen as the 2018 Service Provider of the Year by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority. Early in his career, Brandon realized that event professionals and musicians speak a different language.
